DEFINITION

The Custodian is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy,safe and sanitary manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Custodial reports to the Facilities Manager and cares for the ŷ����ַ Facility and equipment. Maintaining these responsibilities will help ensure the health, safety and security of the public.  

• Cleans offices, meeting rooms,bathrooms, lunch room, utility room, storage rooms,  and any common area;
• Sweeps and mops daily;
• Vacuums runners and all carpeted areas;
• Daily cleans and disinfects washroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, hand dryers, and
• bathroom fixtures, including mirrors;
• Replenish toilet tissue and soap as needed daily;
• Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans daily;
• Keep outside area near exit and entrance clean and clear of cans, paper, etc.;
• Perform and/or report all minor maintenance repairs;
• Report damages and acts of vandalism;
• Spot clean walls and toilet partitions;
• Completes Health and Safety checklists of building assigned and reports necessary maintenance to immediate Supervisor;
• Ensure cleaning materials and supplies are stored safely and in an orderly manner;
• Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and supplies;
• Restock materials and supplies timely;
• Sets-up conference room(s);
• Maintains a neat personal appearance;
• Regular attendance;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Spanish/English preferred.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures,chemicals, products and equipment;
• Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products;
• Ability to work under minimal supervision;
• Must have negative Tuberculin test(TB) or X-rays;
• Physical and mental fitness to engage in custodial work;
• Must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from DOJ and FBI;
• Must have own transportation, a valid California Driver’s License and required Automobile insurance;
